Nature parks are ‘model countries’ with a particularly ecological value. The Zirbitzkogel-Grebenzen Nature Park was honoured in 1982 with the classification of ‘Natural Park’, making it one of the oldest natural parks in Styria.

The Zirbitzkogel-Grebenzen Nature Park owes its special landscape form to the last ice ages, which have left wide plateaus, enchanting landscapes, numerous ponds, streams and springs. The agricultural cultivation of the cultural landscape in the responsible coexistence between man and nature ultimately forms today's diverse and colourful landscape of the region that offers many opportunities for leisure and long paths to travel on foot, by bicycles and, in winter, wide ski slopes.
